Ipex 2006 will be the launch platform for the new Purlux Nova 10 saddle stitcher with a quick make-ready system from Encore Machinery - hall 2, stand A12.
The Purlux Nova 10 is said to operate at 10,000 sheets per hour (sph) and handle a maximum sheet size of 480mm x 320mm.
This new generation of Purlux saddle stitchers has the ability to selectively bind, which will be invaluable for companies specifying personalisation of their digitally printed material, believes Encore.
The Purlux Nova 10 will also be demonstrated on-line to a Desta compensating stacker.
The Desta PAB800 automatic pressing and banding machine will be demonstrated on-line to a Shoei folder.
Desta offers a range of stand-alone and on-line delivery systems for pressing, stacking, banding and bundling, which can be integrated on to any make of folder, stitching machine or binding line to increase productivity in the print or mail room.
The machine can be tailored to satisfy any specialised applications in the finishing area, like small formats and pharmaceutical products, added Encore.
On display with Encore will be the Shoei large format folding and mailing machines from 52cm - 112cm.
All Shoei folders are available with pile, pallet or continuous feeders and a Shoei with full computerisation of all fold settings will be demonstrated.
It is claimed to reduce set up times and has up to 19 parallel fold plates and a combination of knife and buckle folds, as well as different types of stackers.
MB folders will be demonstrating the benefits of extremely short set up times, with a minimum of waste and simpler operation.
The range of fully automated folding machines from A4 to B2 format are also said to reduce set up time, even with a less skilled operator, whilst productivity can be enhanced with the facility to store different job changes.
The top-of-the-range MB prestige Fold Net 52 will be shown with networking capability and CIP4-JDF compatibility along with access to a fold type catalogue and a program memory of 200 jobs.
There will be new product launches, including a new model for creasing, which will be announced nearer the show.
The new Pitstop creaser with an integral two or four plate SRA3 MB35 folder will be officially launched at Ipex.
The folder can be retro-fitted to existing Pit Stop machines for increased productivity.
The Pitstop digital creaser and perforator will be demonstrated operating at up to 8,000 sheets an hour, which is over twice as fast as any of the competitors' models, said Encore.
It uses a CAM and pulsed motors rather than a solenoid action to produce a positive crease on a range of stock form 80gsm to 600gsm and on sheet sizes up to 50cm x 85cm.
The rise and fall platen action ensures a high quality crease without cracking, added the company.
Thando pile turners are said to provide a quick return on investment with improved productivity and plant safety.
The 105P heavy duty pile turner with optional programmable air and jog turns sheets up to 800mm x 1200mm.
The 50P is a small format pile turner for sheets up to 520mm x 740mm.
