New Machine Combines Creasing And Folding
Encore Machinery has launched a compact machine, which combines the popular high speed Pit Stop digital creaser with an MB 35 SRA3 folder.
"This increased the amount of digitally printed jobs that we were getting from the trade, which needed to be scored.
The problem was that we didn't have the right equipment to do it quickly and efficiently.
It could take us two hours to score 1,000 covers on a treadle creaser," Tim Clifton explained.
Clifton contacted Encore Machinery, UK distributors for Pit Stop.
He added: "I know Encore well because I bought a computerised Shoei folder from the company two years ago and I've been pleased with the after-sales service.
Encore put a Pit Stop in on trial and it made such a difference to our productivity.
We can now crease 2,000 covers in only 25 minutes including make-ready.
It is the fastest and most accurate machine of its type on the market and is perfect for our needs as it enables us to do all four creases on a cover in one pass." He explained that as well as being quick and simple to set up, the Pit Stop machine is very flexible because it can be set up to score and perforate digital and litho jobs.
Clifton said: "Having had a machine on trial, there was no doubt that we had to order one.".
