When the Circle Services Group installed a new B1 five-colour press, it decided to make life easier for its press operators by investing in a Thando 105P pile turner.

The Thando 105 P, supplied by Encore Machinery to the Southend (UK) copying, printing and business promotion company, handles B1 and B2 format sheets, turning paper ready for guillotining or printing on the reverse side.

Martyn Austin, Circle Services' managing director, said: "We used to turn the paper by hand but this is a much more efficient method.

Health and Safety was an obvious consideration but productivity was equally important.

When we compare how long it was taking us to lift a pallet of paper, when now we can do it almost instantly, it quickly proved to be a very good investment.".
