B2 Folder Enables Complex Jobs Growth
Priory Press, commercial printers in Dunstable, has traded in its old folder for a new MB CAS 52 computer-controlled B2 folder from Encore Machinery.
Prestige Fold Net 52 from MB is a folder for medium-size formats, which, for the first time, incorporates complete automation including the feeder to the delivery section, said the company.
It has an Ethernet interface, enabling integration in to in-plant networks.
Manual intervention is reduced to a minimum because the positions of all the setting elements are calculated, through a central touch screen panel and set automatically, to an accuracy of 0.1mm, under computer control.
It is also possible to save the setting data of more than 200 jobs in a program memory, said Encore.
The benefits derived from the automation are said to be short set-up times, a minimum of waste and simple operation.
The Prestige Fold Net 52 machines are expandable and available with one, two or three fold units.

For the quick set up, fast turn-around digital print production market, Encore will also be demonstrating the stand-alone high speed creaser, which is claimed to operate at 8,000 sheets per hour (sph) with an optional deep pile delivery and deep pile feeder.
Also making its debut at DPW will be the Pit Stop Mini digital scoring and perforating machine, which operates at a claimrf 6,000sph, has a choice of 20 programs and is suitable for printers that require a well-built machine and do not have such high volume requirements as the Pit Stop High Speed digital creaser.
