First Folder Of Its Kind Installed In UK
Trade finishers, Printsolutions in Peterborough (UK) has installed the first MB Prestigefold Net 52 folder in the UK.
B2 Folder Enables Complex Jobs Growth
Priory Press, commercial printers in Dunstable, has traded in its old folder for a new MB CAS 52 computer-controlled B2 folder from Encore Machinery.
It follows on the previous investment in a thermal lamination machine, a perfect binding system and an Indigo digital printing machine.
Tristan Gill, a director of the family-owned LEA, said: "Having upgraded the printing and pre-press departments, we needed the extra productivity in the finishing department.
The Desta stacker presser saves a lot of time because 95 per cent of our work from both our litho and digital presses is folded.
As it batch counts and offset stacks, it can be run by only one operator, who also boxes the contents." And he added: "It's also very easy to use, which is important, because we run a lean operation where everybody has to be multi-tasking." The Desta presser stacker can be linked to any folder and its speed is comparable to the top speed of that folder.
It handles paper sizes from 100mm x80mm to six up jobs, said Encore.
Gill explained: "The other big advantage is that it increases productivity on our perfect binding machine, The pressed sections are flatter, because the air has been removed, which enables the feeder to run with more consistency and reduces down time.".
