First Folder Of Its Kind Installed In UK
Trade finishers, Printsolutions in Peterborough (UK) has installed the first MB Prestigefold Net 52 folder in the UK.
B2 Folder Enables Complex Jobs Growth
Priory Press, commercial printers in Dunstable, has traded in its old folder for a new MB CAS 52 computer-controlled B2 folder from Encore Machinery.
Mark Langham, digital manager at CPO, commented: "A lot of the printed material, especially the cards, are short run and personalised.
Run lengths average 1,000 copies, making them very suitable for digital printing.
Hence the reason why about four years ago we closed down the litho side of our business and invested in a Xerox I-Gen, which runs alongside a Xerox DC 6060, a Xerox DC130 and an HP5500 and HP8000 wide format printers.
It's the fastest, cleanest and most efficient way of producing our type of print." He continued: "In our busy periods, we were being let down by the creaser.
The cards are printed on the I-Gen digital printer on super gloss stock and folded on the MB folder.
I read about the Pitstop and was impressed by its speed of 8,000 sheets per hour." CPO already knew Encore Machinery because the company had installed the MB folder.
Langham added: "We asked Encore to bring a machine for trials and it worked perfectly.
We finally bought it just in time for the Christmas rush and it proved itself.
Post-Christmas, it is still being used daily and we will shortly be busy again for Easter.
It provides an accurate crease, which maximises the performance of the MB folder and produces a quality finish.".
