ECRM Imaging Systems will exhibit violet CTP imaging technology at the Graphics of the Americas tradeshow from February 3-5, at the Miami Beach Convention Centre (USA).

The four-page Mako System4x has the latest violet laser technology.

It features ECRM's new Nexgen series optics enabling printers to image violet CTP plates, including processless plates when available.

The Mako System4x is claimed to provide higher quality, faster turn-around times and improved short-run profitability.

The system is also said to offer the lowest cost of ownership with a three-year parts replacement warranty.

The Mako 2 platesetter is a two-page system for printers with tight budgets who wish to gain the benefits of a fully digital CTP system.

Meanwhile, the Mako 8 CTP device is said to offer maximum flexibility with the ability to image plates for two-page, four-page, six-page, and eight-page presses.

ECRM's patented violet laser technology enables printers the option of outputting both AM and FM screening.

Like all violet ECRM CTP devices the Mako 8 features simplified plate handling, a small footprint for easy installation, and high plate throughput capacity, said the company.

ECRM's equipment will be displayed during the show on the stands of its authorised resellers, Intergraph Corporation (stand 1099) and Aleph Graphics (stand 1213).

ECRM has just reached its 1,000th CTP installation and, according to the company's chief executive officer, Rick Black: "It validates our strategic vision that violet laser technology would, and has, provided the greatest value for our customers.

Moving forward, as plate technologies mature, partnering with ECRM will provide an excellent alternative to those customers who wish to change to a processless plate environment." James Luttrell, the director of marketing for ECRM, added: "The dramatic decline in the price of violet digital plates over the last 18 months creates an enticing business rationale for commercial printers.

ECRM CTP and workflow systems are uniquely tuned to the needs of printers, especially if they operate in a multiple press size environment.".
