ECRM yesterday promoted Doug Barr to the role of vice president of sales for the western hemisphere.

ECRM yesterday promoted Doug Barr to the role of vice president of sales for the western hemisphere.

Barr, a 30-year veteran of the graphic arts industry, will be responsible for managing and coordinating all sales and dealer activities throughout North America and South America.

ECRM currently manufactures pre-press tools in its Tewksbury, Massachusetts (USA) headquarters and distributes its products worldwide through a network of partners.

Doug Barr joined ECRM in 2005 and, until this appointment, was director of sales for Latin America and the Caribbean.

Prior to ECRM, Barr held positions of increasing responsibility with Kodak Polychrome Graphics, the Imation Corporation and the 3M Company.

ECRM said Barr is experienced in sales and international sales management, international business development in Latin America and Asia Pacific, as well as product marketing anagement and technical service management.

Barr also has expertise in conventional and digital colour reproduction processes, digital pre-press workflow and press and pressroom technology.

ECRM president and chief executive officer, Rick Black, commented: "As a major contributor to the company's growth since 2005, Doug has demonstrated a professional and effective management style that has produced solid results in ECRM's Latin American region.

With this appointment, we're expanding his responsibilities to include the North America region, enabling his influence to reach a wider array of sales partners.
