Prior to accepting the position with ECRM, Wirt was the area sales manager for ECRM, responsible for all of central Europe.
He will now be responsible for managing the ECRM business in Germany and providing product and marketing support to new and existing customers and dealers.
Derek Sizer, vice-president of ECRM, said: "Our intention is to provide a local contact for the hundreds of German ECRM customers we have established in the region.
By opening the German office, we aim to enhance our support of this base by enabling us to be more responsive to our regional dealer network.
The new office is in keeping with our mission to be more proactive in serving the business needs of ECRM's customers and the channel partners that support them." And he added: "With the acceptance and application of violet CTP technology on the rise worldwide, increased localised support is beneficial to our long-term success in major markets, such as Germany." To further support the German print community, ECRM has created a separate newly-designed website translated in to German, which features a private dealer and end-user extranet to provide documents, online tools and resources for pre-sales support.
It also provides parts and service documentation, a technical specification library and additional support resources.
