Michael Mierjeski, ECRM's software business manager, said: "Regardless of the size of the commercial printer, the extensive features and benefits in v8.0 of the software are designed to improve the quality and performance of the print processes.
RIPmate accepts and processes all the latest PDF file versions and MS XPS formats.
Whether or not the file contains a colour space, or transparency makes no difference because RIPmate supports all the latest technologies." Workmates is made up of five standard components, that are said to allow a printer to create PDF files, impose, RIP, proof and manage their print jobs.
Users benefit from automation, thereby reducing pre-press, make-ready and production time.
Based on a Harlequin RIP core, RIPmate is claimed to allow users to perform most tasks in-RIP, saving time and money by eliminating manual work.
By providing a range of plug-ins and applications, RIPmate becomes a future-proof investment, enabling users to expand or change their business direction, added ECRM.
The Drupa 2008 exhibition will see ECRM launch the next release of the Workmates v3.0 workflow system.
The company said that Workmates 3.0 has a new graphic user interface that allows users to either view all, or selected workflows.
Users can choose to drop jobs in to automatic flows for complete automation, or manual flows to create custom impositions to selected output devices.
The company added that Workmates 3.0 is a client server package that provides Macintosh and PC users with unlimited client connections.
In addition, Workmates 3.0 includes the latest Harlequin RIP release version 8.0, which is claimed to offer PDFraster output and increased performance from multi-threaded CPUs.
