Esko-Graphics will demonstrate its full workflow from prototype to plate production at the Total Processing and Packaging exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham (UK) in March.

The company offers productive integrated solutions to the complete packaging supply chain for the design, graphic and structural pre-production of packaging materials.

The Esko-Graphics workflow will include Artioscad 6.0, the latest version of Esko-Graphics structural design software plus their Kongsberg sample table for cutting and creasing.

Deskpack software will present high-end packaging design and trapping tools for the desktop and Flexo plates will be imaged on the CDI -Cyrel Digital Imager.

"Increasingly, Esko-Graphics research and development has focused on the need to make the same job file available to all people in the supply chain - whether converters, die-makers, repro houses or clients.

We aim to do that without constant changes in file formatting which can be time-consuming, confusing and ultimately costly," said Paul Bates, UK sales manager for packaging.

With the Esko systems, CAD files can be stepped up with graphics files, 3D animation can create on-screen facsimiles of the finished package, web tools will enable libraries of client jobs to be made available to interested parties and 'reprod' files can be sent direct to the plate imager.

Visitors to the stand will also have the opportunity to see software systems designed to increase productivity in all areas of packaging prepress.

There will be daily demonstrations of version 6.0 of Artioscad sending jobs for cutting and creasing to the Kongsberg XL sample-making table.

This is a tool for the preparation of realistic samples for approval or test marketing.

The latest version 3.0 of Packedge prepress software will be on show, demonstrating a range of exciting capabilities for packaging applications, whilst Deskpack offers designers fast and easy access to professional desktop pre-production facilities.

It adds a series of plug-ins to extend Adobe Illustrator's functionality, combined with a server hosting a powerful trapping application.

Backstage is a workflow server for highly automated and productive volume processing of packaging graphics that will also be on show.

It includes job tracking and open support for desktop design applications.
