Esko-Graphics has developed a new feature for its Kongsberg XL tables, the Multicut tool head.

Esko-Graphics has developed a new feature for its Kongsberg XL tables, the Multicut tool head Joining the Powerhead, Flexihead and Foamhead, the Multicut has been designed specifically for sign and display applications

Together with two standard configurable tool stations that can be set up for cutting and creasing corrugated board or other similar materials, it features a new milling spindle.

The one kW powerful spindle extends the ability of the XL tables to process much more rigid materials than used in typical packaging, it is claimed.

The Multicut tool head is said to handle a wide range of sign and display materials with thicknesses up to one inch (25mm).

Esko believes that makes it suitable for materials such as plywood, acrylics, polycarbonates, alucobond, rigid PVC, wood and high-pressure laminates.

With the adjustable rotation speed up to 60,000 rpm and servo controlled milling depth the spindle allows for milling, contour cutting, routing, drilling and engraving directly from CAD designs.

The main operation parameters are fully software controlled.

All existing XL tables can be upgraded with the Multicut tool head.
