Esko-Graphics and MY Printech will integrate the PrinTech FMsix technology with Esko-Graphics' Inkwizard, a component of the Scope workflow.

Esko-Graphics and MY Printech will integrate the PrinTech FMsix technology with Esko-Graphics' Inkwizard, a component of the Scope workflow.

Both companies will support this integrated technology to provide optimised colour quality and consistency of packaging printing.

The Inkwizard module in Scope is claimed to convert jobs to any target colour space.

Both off the shelf colour sets and custom colour sets are supported.

Inkwizard ensures editing and flexibility before and after converting to the multi colour process set.

It is a module within Packedge, the application in the Scope workflow, which covers a wide range of packaging pre-production functions: job and product specification, graphic and structural design, pre-production operations, platemaking for printing and toolmaking for converting.

FMsix uses a colour reproduction of spot colours for packaging printing applications and is said to improve colour quality, whilst it reduces significantly production cost.

The application is built on a six-colour printing process for offset and it uses an algorithm, which, by applying FM Screening delivers a significantly extended colour gamut claimed Esko.

"This cooperation will allow packaging designers and printers to also obtain a smooth integration of the FM6 conversion process in the standard workflow whilst preparing files for printing." commented Geert De Proost, marketing manager for Flexrip at Esko-Graphics.

"Our solution offers an error proof system of conversion that limits the operator intervention to the absolute minimum, whilst still allowing for manual intervention when needed.

The cooperation with M.Y.

Printech is another confirmation of our focus and commitment to the packaging market, which will involve further development of Scope software applications in the future," he added.

Jan Goovaerts, marketing manager at FMsix commented: "The Inkwizard tool from Esko-Graphics offers the printer a smart tool to convert any spot colour used in packaging designs into the proper pre-set FMsix colour combinations.

We look forward to this technology cooperation, which will allow us and Esko-Graphics to offer our clients access to higher quality colour output for packaging printing.".
