Esko-Graphics has announced a sponsorship role in the imminent Adobe live events and tour The firm said it will be an active and highly visible participant, with presentations by Esko-Graphics' speakers and an exhibition space

The series of Adobe live events start on May 10h during Grafivak in RAI Amsterdam and then moves to the UK and Germany, concluding on June 1 in France.

The Adobe tour in Germany starts on June 2 and ends June 14 in Munich.

The Adobe live events are presented as an expo with conference format, targeting the creative community and this year's focus is on the new version of Creative Suite, with which Esko-Graphics' Scope workflow features full desktop integration.

Esko-Graphics will demonstrate Scope's range of functions, from job and product specification, through to graphic and structural design and expert pre-production operations, as well as sample cutting and high speed digital die-less converting.

The company said that the Scope architecture builds on to broadly accepted industry data standards, such as the Adobe Illustrator native file format, different flavours of PDF focused towards graphics and JDF-enabled for flexible integration with other pre-production and business systems.

Jean-Luc Petorin, EMEA group marketing manager at Adobe and responsible of the Adobe live events and tour said: "We are very pleased that Esko-Graphics is joining as one of our key partners for all of the European events and the tour in Germany.

We have already worked together on many occasions.

A recent accomplishment is the creation of a promotional box using Scope's Deskpack module and Creative Suite, which is now used on a worldwide basis, demonstrating Esko-Graphics' ability to design packages interfacing with Adobe software." The promotional box for Adobe Creative Suite was created using Scope and is a convincing demonstration of Scope's functions, believes Esko-Graphics.

Deskpack 2.0 is a set of software plug-ins within Scope that turn Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop in to fully-fledged design and pre-press production tools.

Deskpack 2.0 includes the ArtiosCAD plug-in, the structural design software for packaging and animated 3-D VRML files.

A full range of Adobe Illustrator plug-ins includes interactive pre-flight (checkX), barcode creation (barX), professional trapping (trapX), separation viewing (viewX), ink and separation management and step and repeat (stepX).

Adobe PhotoShop plug-ins include flexo tools and ink tools.

The plug-ins bring packaging pre-press production tools to the designer's and pre-press operator's desktops, including full integration of Adobe Creative Suite with Esko-Graphics' Scope Backstage workflow server.

Frank Adegeest, Esko-Graphics senior product manager for packaging applications software commented: "Following a long-lasting and solid cooperation, we are happy to embark in the Adobe live events and tour as Adobe's partner for packaging applications.

Future developments will certainly be directed towards a further interface with the Adobe Creative Suite.
