Durst Digital Technology and Esko-Graphics have finalised an agreement that allows Durst to market and sell Esko-Graphics' Kongsberg i-XL series of cutting tables.

Durst Digital Technology and Esko-Graphics have finalised an agreement that allows Durst to market and sell Esko-Graphics' Kongsberg i-XL series of cutting tables.

The deal means that the Kongsberg tables will be the preferred finishing product for Durst customers throughout Europe.

Based in Lienz (Austria) and with a global presence, Durst manufactures large format digital inkjet printers, and will sell Esko-Graphics' products to its customer base in Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Germany, the UK, Ireland and France.

Jef Bogaerts, business development manager at Esko-Graphics, views the agreement as a strong endorsement of the Kongsberg i-XL series and the technical advantages that the finishing tables offer for signage and display applications.

"The Kongsberg cutting tables' rock-solid construction combined with the innovative MGE I-cut technology, enables it to handle a wide range of materials and application.

Its compatibility with Durst's popular Rho range of digital inkjet printers provides a finishing product that delivers full automation, high productivity and outstanding precision.

This combined system will open new challenges and business opportunities for innovative digital printing companies," said Bogaerts.

Dr Piock, the managing director of Durst Digital Technology, commented: "This cooperation between Durst and Esko-Graphics further enhances Durst's ability to supply true production machines that provide exceptional levels of automation and output whilst maintaining the highest quality of finished product." The Kongsberg i-XL 20, i-XL 24 and i-XL 44 tables integrate the Mikkelsen Graphic Engineering (MGE) I-cut vision system and I-script workflow for perfect print to cut registration.

The product complements the printing of packages, signs, displays and POP materials with a finishing product that provides automation with high productivity and accurate precision for a range of soft and rigid materials, said Esko-Graphics.

Durst's European demonstration centre is already providing customers with demonstrations of the Kongsberg i-XL series of finishing tables working in combination with Rho digital printers.
