Esko will be participating in the Gulf Pack packaging exhibition, where it will be demonstrating its packaging software suite.

Esko will be participating in the Gulf Pack packaging exhibition called, where it will be demonstrating its packaging software suite Gulf Pack is to be staged in conjunction with Gulf Print, which is to be held in Dubai from April 2 - 5 During the show, Esko said it will confirm its commitment to the sign, display and POP market and it will also showcase its I-cut vision control system and I-script workflow, developed by MGE (Mikkelsen Graphic Engineering), integrated with the Esko Kongsberg i-XL24

Esko will also conduct demonstrations and briefings in cooperation with its dealers, ITM and Technorex.

In Esko's opinion, the adoption of flatbed digital printing in the sign, display and POP sectors has expanded design possibilities and placed a greater emphasis on digital finishing systems.

The company's I-XL Kongsberg series is claimed to complement the digital printing of signs and displays by providing a finishing system for the widest range of materials, providing automation, high productivity and precision.

The Kongsberg I-XL finishing tables are claimed to have features that save time and boost quality fro materials including plywood, acrylics, polycarbonates, Dibond, rigid PVC, wood, corrugated cardboard and high pressure laminates.

At Gulf Print '07, Esko will also demonstrate the upgraded I-cut 6.2, the vision control system and I-script workflow that is said to generate exact registration and direct control for die-less cutting contours to match printed images.

The I-cut camera measures each printed object using register marks to define the position and to compensate for any dimensional changes, distortions or material variations, such as shrinkage or stretching, claimed Esko.

Walter Dhooge, Esko's EMEA sales manager, will be a presenter at Gulf Print's series of information seminars during the show.

Dhooge confirmed Esko's support as a participant: "Gulf Print is an excellent event for Esko, as it combines both printing and packaging systems under one banner.

In a relatively short time period, Gulf Print has grown to be one of the leading exhibitions in the region.

The Middle East is an important market for Esko and we welcome the opportunity to respond to the active interest in our integrated packaging systems." During Gulf Print Esko will also highlight Scope, thepackaging software suite.

Scope is the core of Esko's system that is said to be designed to turn the packaging supply chain - from brand owner to retailer - in to a straight forward collaborative process.

Esko will demonstrate how Scope manages a range of functions, from job and product specification, through graphic and structural design to pre-production operations.

For example, Scope's Deskpack tools are said to harness the power of the desktop for display design, turning Adobe Illustrator seats in to full-featured Backstage clients, enabling CAD layouts to be imported in to designs and to view designs interactively in realistic 3D.

Fully completed files can be sent directly to Flexrip for output.

ArtiosCAD version 7, Esko's latest component for structural design, is claimed to offer full import and export support for Solidworks 3D CAD files.

Complete 3D CAD integration allows for quick prototyping of designs and presentations, eliminating communication errors and reducing design review cycles, said Esko.

ArtiosCAD 7 is also said to provide a series of specifications for a selection of materials, such as corrugated board, plastics and foam, for instance.

The new 3D export formats for the creation of presentations and assembly drawings contain animations and background illustrations.
