Three new reseller agreements were signed at Drupa by Eskoartwork to meet demand in the eastern European display and packaging markets.
They included DuPont, HP, Agfa and Lacor.
Jordi Quera Esko's sales manager for Iberia, said: "Esko's leadership in the packaging pre-production market segment, combined with our partners' efforts, contributed to our very successful sales results at Graphispag 07.
We believe that the high level of interest and resulting sales commitments that were finalised at the show, confirms that we are on track with providing the right systems to meet the needs of our customer base in Spain." Armand Gougay, Esko's vice-president of sales and marketing, concurred: "The tremendous response exceeded all of our expectations in both sales and lead generation.
We are enthusiastic about the excellent customer response to Esko's systems at Graphispag 2007 and we will exploit this interest to further expand our growth in the Spanish market." Digital Graphic was one of customers that has invested in a Kongsberg table.
According to Esko, Luis Mulero, the company's founder, has searched for a versatile system that offered precision and high quality results for his demanding finishing requirements.
He compared other products on the market but only the Kongsberg offered an match of technical capabilities and cost-effectiveness.
Mulero commented: "We could plainly see that the Esko Kongsberg is a superior offering and its integration with Esko ArtiosCAD was a very important factor in our decision.
ArtiosCAD saves an incredible amount of time.
The combination of these two systems is certain to dramatically increase our level of quality and service." He explained that the new Kongsberg can handle his company's diverse finishing requirements, and added: "It performs a range of tasks, from cutting and milling 2cm rigid materials, such as PVC, up to soft materials like vinyl or polyester.
Now, the only limits are our imagination or that of our customers and thanks to Esko, we can handle the most complex or creative packaging job." Esko shared its stand with DuPont to provide briefings and demonstrations about Esko's packaging software suite including ArtiosCAD, the CDI Spark 4260, DuPont Cyrel Fast and Kongsberg i-XL24.
Esko had an active presence with HP, Esko's partner for the digital label printing market.
The two companies presented a combined system featuring Esko's Scope and HP Indigo digital label presses.
Agfa and Esko have a global reseller agreement in place that allows Agfa to sell Esko's Deskpack and Plato pre-press software to the packaging market.
Esko added that the synergy attracted numerous visitors and sales enquiries at Agfa's stand.
Lacor, Esko's Spanish distributor for CAD/CAM, demonstrated the Kongsberg XL44 on its stand and handled a steady stream of sales enquiries, added the company.
