EFI and Epson team up to offer proofing system

Large-format printer customers in the UK can now obtain a proofing system based on EFI's Colorproof XF RIP when bought with either the Epson Stylus Pro 7900 or Stylus Pro 9900 printers.
The Epson Stylus Pro 7900 24in (61cm) and Stylus Pro 9900 44in (111.8cm) printers utilise Epson's Ultrachrome high-dynamic-range (HDR) inkset.
This expands on Epson's Ultrachrome K3 (three blacks) with Vivid Magenta inkset by adding orange and green inks, increasing the range of colours that can be achieved, especially bright green to yellow and yellow to red.
The orange ink also contributes to smoother skin tones, according to the company.
Both printers operate at speeds of up to 40m2 per hour with a resolution of up to 2,880dpi and, when accompanied by the EFI Colorproof XF RIP, provide enhanced colour accuracy and processing times, colour calibration and automatic colour optimisation.
