Patent For Anti-Font File Corruption
Extensis has been awarded a patent for a method that examines font files for corruption.
The free plug-ins are available now for download from the Extensis website and support Suitcase X1 Single User and Suitcase X1 Client, as well as Font Reserve 3.1.4 Single User and Font Reserve Client 1.7.4.
The plug-ins require the latest update of Indesign CS2 from Adobe (version 4.0.1).
With the update, global font auto-activation is no longer supported by Indesign CS2, so plug-ins for third party font management products are a requirement to support font auto-activation.
Martin Stein, director of product management for Extensis, said: "Indesign has proven to be a leading layout and design product for creative professionals.
A key feature for Indesign users is the ability to ensure the same font they have designated gets activated every time they open a file.
With these plug-ins, Extensis equips Indesign users with font management that ensures the correct font will be automatically activated every time.".
