Extensis has been awarded a second patent for its Express Palette feature within Portfolio, its digital asset management system.

Extensis has been awarded a second patent for its Express Palette feature within Portfolio, its digital asset management system.

The Express Palette is a floating application that is claimed to bring the digital library of files within Portfolio directly in to the user's existing workflow, providing search and drag-and-drop access to files from anywhere on the user's system.

Extensis was awarded an apparatus patent on the Express Palette in August 2005.

Brian Berson, Extensis' general manager, commented: "Extensis' Portfolio family of products continues to be a leading system for digital asset management needs and we are thrilled to receive a second patent for our Express Palette feature.

Our customers love how the Express Palette improves their workflows by eliminating the need to open another application to access vital files and images.

In short, it enables them to get the right file at the right time with very little effort.

The US Patent and Trademark Office granted the method patent to Extensis for its digital asset management technology.
