University's Digital Print Strengthens Mailings
The University of Surrey is claimed to have become the first UK higher education establishment to benefit from Kodak Graphic Communications Group's (GCG) Nexpress 2100 digital colour press.
She will report to James Langley, the president of commercial printing, and senior vice president of Kodak.
"Barb is an excellent addition to our management team.
Her experience in all aspects of the industry - from marketing and consulting to technology and operations - will be instrumental to the growth and development of our business.
She understands the markets we are serving as well as the competitive landscape," said Langley.
Pellow (49) has considerable experience in digital printing and publishing, having held senior positions at Xerox, IBM, IKON, Indigo and the consulting firm CAP Ventures.
Most recently, Pellow was Gannett Professor of Printing and Publishing at the Rochester Institute of Technology's School of Print Media, with responsibility for developing the curriculum of the school.
She primarily focused on the relationship between traditional paper-based media and emerging electronic new media.
Prior to RIT, Pellow was senior vice president of marketing at Ikon Office Solutions, where she developed integrated business and marketing strategies for all of the company's products and services, as well as having coordinated the company's global branding campaign.
Pellow also served as group director for the On Demand Printing and Publishing Service at CAP Ventures, one of the industry's leading digital document management consulting firms.
Earlier in her career, Pellow was vice president of worldwide marketing for Indigo, and vice president and general manager for Xerox's US document production systems unit, where she played a major role in the launch of the company's Docutech product line.
Pellow started her career at IBM in sales and marketing.
