Digital Colour Press Helps Attract New Business
Sheetfed litho printer Turnpike produced an urgent order for HSBC consisting of 65 different printed items on a Kodak Nexpress M700 digital colour press within a few days of installing the machine.
Will Mansfield, the marketing director for digital printing solutions EAMER for Kodak Graphic Communications Group (GCG) commented: "The fact that the Nexpress press is used by both of the top winners of this award reinforces the message that our technology is right up there at the leading edge.
As photo books become more and more popular with consumers, photo finishers need to be using output machines that are fast, flexible and of a high quality.
The Nexpress range meets all of these criteria." Alun Joseph, product manager at Fotobook, said: "We have been in the business of digital printing since 1995 and have, over the years, explored many potential markets.
We felt that the Kodak Nexpress press would provide us with superior technology, good flexibility and a strong brand presence, as well as the ability to print on cut sheets, which could only be an advantage for us." He explained: "We currently have two machines installed that we use for photo book, calendar and greetings card production, as well as other variable printing, and are completely satisfied with the results they produce.
Photo books are just starting to take off, and the Nexpress press has allowed us to produce different formats of personalised books for our customers, all of which look extremely professional and are delivered within a short time frame." He added that by downloading software from Fotobook's website, customers design their own books based on a variety of templates, and they are then printed using the Nexpress presses and delivered within a few days.
