Kodak's flexo printing system's technology award
Kodak's Flexcel NX digital flexographic system is one of 10 products to win a PIA/GATF Intertech Technology Award.
The magazine's guide described the Digimaster E125 system as 'a versatile, speedy way for customers to add high volume production printing capabilities'.
It also further credited the press for its process control technology, added: 'it ensures image consistency, which is critical in print on demand applications'.
The Digimaster E125, with a claimed resolution of 600 dots per inch (dpi) x 600dpi, employs a small particle developer and imaging technology to provide documents with sharp text, crisp halftones and rich graphics, said Kodak.
Featuring a claimed print speed of 125 pages per minute (ppm) the Digimaster E125 is said to support a duty cycle of 2.5 million to 4.25 million impressions per month.
'Better Buys for Business' also highlighted the system's remote internet interface as 'a notable feature'.
Kodak added that users can employ remote access to remotely submit, monitor, retrieve, print and manage the print job status of the submitted jobs as they flow through the print queue.
That allows users to manage their operations and verify with their clients the print request.
The magazine evaluates copiers, printers, faxes and scanners from all major manufacturers when selecting award winners but only one or two from each category achieve 'editor's choice' status for the best performance and best value.
Paula Balik, product marketing manager for digital black and white products at Kodak's Graphic Communications Group, said: "We are delighted to receive this prestigious award.
It confirms that the Digimaster E125 provides premier image quality, as well as an ideal system to efficiently produce personalised, variable data print applications with productive and sophisticated on-line finishing." She added: "Most importantly, we're excited that our customers continue to grow their businesses through new applications and customers with innovative solutions such as the DigimasterE125 system.".
