Eastman Kodak Company has appointed Oscar Planas as managing director for the Latin America Region and vice president of Kodak's Graphic Communications Group (GCG).

Eastman Kodak Company has appointed Oscar Planas as managing director for the Latin America Region and vice president of Kodak's Graphic Communications Group (GCG) Planas, based in the Miami Florida (USA) Latin America headquarters, has nearly 25 years' experience in the graphic communications industry

In his new role, Kodak said that Planas will be responsible for optimising all Kodak products and systems and ensuring strong regional results and profitability.

He will lead day to day operations within the region, including sales of the entire GCG product portfolio, along with customer service, product support, supply chain management and tactical marketing for GCG in the region.

Planas will also manage regional alignment of equipment service.

Andrew Copley, managing director of GCG global sales and operations and vice president of Eastman Kodak, said: "Oscar has the ideal combination of commitment, experience and knowledge of the GCG portfolio to help grow our customers' businesses in Latin America.

He has proven to be an asset to the GCG and will undoubtedly excel in his new position." Planas most recently served as director of marketing and business development for Kodak's GCG in Latin America.

Prior to Kodak, Planas worked in the Color Technologies Division of Imation, where he was general manager for Argentina and international business development manager for the Latin American region.

Planas said: "I'm thrilled to be given this opportunity to help our customers grow in Latin America, a region that's very important to me personally and professionally.
