Graph Expo Sees 7 Kodak Systems Highly Rated
Seven Kodak systems earned 'must see' recognition at Graph Expo 2006 in Chicago (USA).
Wolfgang Wild, chairman and partner of Solex , said he viewed the Versamark printing systems as a strategic addition to his company's product portfolio.
He commented: "We specialise in the distribution of small-size inkjet printing systems with a maximum print width of about seven centimetres.
Thanks to Kodak's continuous inkjet printing systems, we can now offer fast printing with an extremely inexpensive price per print." Wild added that he is particularly impressed by the economic advantages of the Versamark D-series products, citing the significant cost-saving factor in printing 1,000 addresses of 1.50 Euros, as against 20 cents.
The flexibility and easy maintenance of the D-Series would be an important purchasing consideration for Solex 's customers.
For example, the printheads have the capability to print on the reverse side of a print product.
"Those features, plus the continuous inkjet in contrast to drop-on-demand technology, makes the Versamark very attractive for our customer base," said Wild.
The DS5120, DS5122 and DS5240 digital printers are multi-functional systems for water-based inks, with a print width between 2.71cm and 5.42cm, said Kodak Versamark.
They are suitable for printing barcodes, serial numbers, addresses and other personalised print jobs and they have a printing capacity of nearly 300 metres per minute, added the company.
As a standard printer configuration, the systems can be integrated in offset presses and finishing systems and that also applies to the DS7122, which has a print width of 5.41cm and is equipped to handle solvent solution inks to print addresses for high-end quality mailings.
Wolfgang Wild said he is confident that the distribution agreement will present promising new market opportunities.
"We are very enthusiastic about the value-added benefits that the Versamark will bring to our customers," he added.
