Kodak Versamark Sell Digital System At Drupa
Kodak Versamark, a wholly owned subsidiary of Eastman Kodak, today announced that Rotomail has purchased the new high-resolution Kodak Versamark VX5000e printing system introduced at Drupa 2004.
Data One was the first printer in France to install a Versamark VX5000 system with 12 printheads.
Whilst the intent of the first installation in 2002 was to increase volume capacity subsequent acquisitions of Kodak technology enabled Data One to achieve speed and reliable performance, with the advantage of delivering high quality work to its clients in process colour, spot colour and mono, said Kodak Versamark.
The French company produces personalised communications for the direct marketing sector, with clients including marketing agencies, direct sales companies, banks, insurance firms and government agencies.

Gabriel Bres, Data One's processing general manager, commented that the investment in Kodak technology is a continuing success story.
"We have had outstanding results with the phenomenal speed of the VX5000 printing systems, achieving run rates of 1,500 pages per minute for four-colour process and up to 2,000 pages per minute for mono with one spot colour," said Bres.
"The machines are real workhorses.
We produce a volume of 700 million to 800 million pages per year with exceptional reliability.
The two new additional printing systems will enable us to gain an even greater volume of color variable inkjet printing," he added.
Data One's digital print capabilities enable jobs to go from the computer directly to the Kodak Versamark printing systems, resulting in significant time savings.
Mailings can be personalised with a variety of individual information, graphics and addressing options, said the company.
Gabriel Bres said that he can say yes to practically any variable print job that a customer may request.
The Versamark printing systems are ideally suited for a range of applications, such as mass and direct mailing, printing coupons, directories and catalogues, book publishing, as well as invoices and account statements, it is claimed.
The company also profits from the Versamark systems' capability of handling a range of stock from 70gsm to 160gsm in weight.
The ability to print high quality mailings on lighter weight stock reduces the overall job cost and permits lower postage rates.
Laurent Mathieu, regional sales manager for western Europe at Kodak Versamark, said: "Over the past four years we have worked closely with Data One to support its continued investment in continuous inkjet systems.
We're proud of the company's success as France's leading provider for personalised direct mail communication, and I'm very pleased that our printing systems are providing a strong technical foundation for Data One's continued growth.".
