Newsetter TH100/TH180 CL is claimed to be suitable for many newspaper formats including panorama, tabloid and broadsheet and is capable of outputting up to 180 plates per hour.
It is fully automated for ease of operation and has less moving parts for greater system reliability and customer productivity said KPG.
In addition KPG has introduced its plate quality management system.
The system has been designed to assure optimum plate quality on press, avoid unnecessary re-prints, optimise productivity and help customers agree delivery schedules.
KPG's plate quality management system provides early warning and plate quality control of all types of printing plates with special designed targets for thermal technology.
Warning messages can be received by workflow, email or SMS claimed KPG.
The system also incorporates image analysis software, pixel data processing and edge fringe analysis, process control, integrated expert centre software and newly developed high-resolution camera systems for measurements.
Also available is integrated plate identification, which is optional.
Rinus Hoebeke, KPG's European newspaper segment manager said: "KPG is committed to developing products that support the newspaper sector, and which meet customers' varying production requirements.
This is why it's important for us to continually research and develop solutions, which will impact our customers' business demands and maintain the strength of KPG within the marketplace.
Worldwide we now have over 500 sites using our Thermalnews plate technology and have sold over 200 Newsetter Systems.
These installations demonstrate our leading position in the international newspaper market." He continued: "A newspaper operation in most cases will not reposition or extend its current set-up to replace a platesetter with a larger footprint therefore, we see our next generation product as providing a significant upgrade for the market.".
