Showcasing its latest violet digital platemaking system for the newspaper industry, Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG) will be launching the Newsetter V120 violet newspaper CTP system at the UK's Newstec newspaper production exhibition In its worldwide debut, the Newsetter V120 will be on show with the recently launched KPG Violetnews printing plate on the company's stand 2010 in hall 1 at Newstec, which is being staged in Brighton at the Metropole from May 23-25

The Newsetter V120 CTP system is said to be a high-performance entry-level system for newspaper producers who want to achieve high quality, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, versatility and ease of use said KPG.
Capable of claimed speeds of up to 120 plates per hour at 1,270 dots per inch (dpi), Newsetter V120 can be integrated in to existing workflows and provides one continuous flow of plates, from automatic loading and the removal of interleaving paper, to final punching, bending and stacking of press-ready plates.

New Server Technology Serves High Volume Needs
The introduction of a new Creo Color Server system has been made by Print On Demand Solutions (PODS) Group, an independent unit of Kodak's Graphic Communications Group.
It is also said to offer a modular, fully automated violet CTP plate production line that can be individually customised to meet the demanding productivity levels of the newspaper market, allowing users to control input, production and output.
It is suitable for many newspaper formats including panorama, broadsheet and tabloid and can be run in one production sequence, without stoppages or amendments to the system said KPG.
The Violetnews printing plate is claimed by KPG to combine reliability, consistency and production quality and will be shown in conjunction with the Newsetter V120 for the first time.
An integral component of the Newsetter V120 system, Violetnews is said to offer durability and resolution of two to 98 per cent at up to 175Ipi with run lengths of up to 200,000 copies unbaked.
It is also said to embody fast imaging speed, the ability to be handled in yellow safelight and low chemistry usage.
The Newsetter V120 Newsetter TH100-TH180 CL systems will also be on show with a Nela video controlled punching and bending module linked to the fully automated Newsetter configuration.
That is said to enable accurate punching and bending of imaged and processed newspaper plates and provides optimum performance of the system.
