Kodak's Magnus 400 III Platesetter is a 4-up CTP option for commercial printers, offset packaging printers and publishers looking to add productivity, quality and flexibility to their operations.

According to Kodak, the Platesetter has a streamlined user interface, the ability to offer simpler service compared to earlier systems and a reduced environmental impact.

Designed to maximise press uptime by making the service process simpler, the Magnus 400 III Platesetter supports up to seven language options, while gaving an auto-recovery mechanism and Gigabit Ethernet communication.

In addition, the device has a power-saving feature for when the it is idle.

The Intelligent Pre-press Manager software, which is compatible with the Magnus 400 III, allows full remote monitoring of the plate line for higher productivity and efficiency, along with standard and customisable reports that allow better management of the platemaking operation.

'Very fast imaging speeds and a variety of automation options make this device ideal for a growing business,' said Kuty Paperny, director, global product management for output devices at Kodak.

'By using our Thermal Direct non-process plates, the environmental impact of pre-press operations can be reduced,' she added.
