Reliable Coding Printers' Low Lifetime
Costs
Vespalase is a new division of Euromark Coding and Marking that has been established to distribute laser coding and marking equipment.
With claimed low lifetime costs, reliability and providing maximum line uptime, the Vespalase range of printers answers the needs of manufacturers or packers seeking to permanently mark for quality assurance, security or health and safety reasons, said the company There are no consumables to buy, no routine maintenance and components have an extended service life

Hitachi Inkjet Printers Run At 700 Metres A Minute
With the new PXR series continuous inkjet printer range, Hitachi, a company with 30 years experience in continuous ink jet (CIJ), claims to have set new performance benchmarks.
The laser codes the product or packaging with vector high quality fonts that cannot be removed without leaving evidence.
That makes the process suitable for high-integrity security marking in engineering, automotive, aerospace, pharmaceuticals, fine foods and other industries where permanent traceability marks are a key element of quality assurance (QA) compliance, added the company.
It is said that machines can be programmed to meet a range of marking tasks and conventional and 2D matrix barcodes present no problems.
With a library of alphanumeric symbols, multiple language capability and an ability to interface with graphics software, the machines can produce text, logos, warnings, safety and statutory information and other marks with greater definition than continuous ink jet systems, it is claimed .
Set up is also said to be simple, from the local control station, or remotely via a network.
Control software is icon driven through a graphical user interface.
Each machine is potentially multi-tasking and can be programmed to accomplish a variety of coding and marking tasks, whilst custom marking operations can be entered on the local control panel.
All programming, revisions and operations can be logged for security, QA and traceability.
The machines have a range of connectivity options including USB, RS232 and LAN/Ethernet.
Power consumption varies from 10 watts to 100 watts with water cooling available for high power machines on heavy duty applications.
Where substrates give off fumes when marked, Vespalase can supply efficient localised fume extraction, it added.
The Vespalase machines are claimed to be designed for reliability and intensive use.
Models embrace CO2 and Fiber technology and can mark at a rate of 1,600 characters per second.
Tubes in the CO2 laser have a projected 30,000-hour working life rising to 100,000 hours for the Fiber model.
