Envirowise launches guide for digital printers

Sustainable business experts Envirowise has launched a new guide to help digital printing companies improve their environmental performance and save money.

The Envirowise Digital Printing Good Practice Guide has been put together with input from industry representatives and provides advice on how to implement practical and cost-effective measures to improve resource efficiency.

For printers this includes reducing paper waste, reducing energy consumption, recycling paper and toner cartridges, and promoting the use of recycled paper.

It also provides advice on reducing water use throughout the shop floor.

The guide covers many areas where waste is produced in the digital print sector, almost all of which can be minimised.

From waste produced directly by the printing process to packaging, the guide gives an understanding of the types of waste areas and gives advice on taking first steps towards environmental best practice and cost savings.

The guide also helps printing companies set key performance indicators (KPIs) to accurately measure and manage waste, and progress towards environmental goals.
