UK print house, Demonprint has launched its digital printing business with the help of Express Print Solutions (EPS) and the purchase of a Xerox Docucolor 6060 digital colour press.

UK digital print house, Demonprint, which supplies trade print, has launched its digital printing business with the help of Express Print Solutions (EPS) and the purchase of a Xerox Docucolor 6060 digital colour press.

The company has also bought a range of Morgana finishing equipment.

Richard Morris, director of Demonprint, explained: "The Demonprint management team has a wealth of experience when it comes to digital print, so we knew the quality of this equipment having worked with both Xerox presses and Morgana finishing equipment in the past.

However, when we decided to set up Demonprint earlier this year, we wanted to find a digital print systems supplier who would be more than just a box shifter." Morris added that having put Demonprint's equipment requirements out to tender, Express Print Solutions offered a digital print and finishing system that included the Xerox 6060 Docucolor 6060 digital colour press, supported by Morgana finishing equipment comprising an autocreaser, major folder and a EBA 550 guillotine.

Explained Morris: "We wanted a strategic partner to work closely with us throughout the launch phase, as well as providing us with the best technology and strong support.

Although we met with a number of organisations during the tender process, it was EPS that made the strongest impression on us.

Not only could EPS supply the machines we were interested in, the team clearly demonstrated a sound knowledge of our business and excellent technical skills, showing us it could offer us all of the services and technology we required." Demonprint is using the Docucolor 6060 and Morgana finishing equipment to produce short-run and POD digital print, such as business cards, flyers, leaflets, stationery and brochures for litho printers, design houses and print brokers, enabling all parties to make healthy margins.

By investing in a fully-integrated print and finishing system, the company believes it is able to offer its customers high quality print with rapid turn-around times.

Morris continued: "When we set up Demonprint, we had a very clear vision of the kind of print house we wanted to be.

By offering digital print we can produce between one and 2,000 units without compromising on quality.

For us our new Xerox machine has enabled us to offer a competitive first class service that draws upon state-of-the-art technology." He said that since the installation of the kit, the company has also teamed-up with a specialist print design company and is now offering customers additional services, such as large-format promotional collateral.

The versatility of the new equipment means Demonprint can be flexible with its services, which ultimately has a positive impact on its bottom line.

Morris continued: "We are extremely pleased with the service provided by EPS.

For us, it wasn't about just purchasing machines from a supplier, it was about choosing a supplier that would be there every step of the way.

Without the equipment and the support of EPS, the road to market would have been considerably more difficult.

From our first meeting through to the installation process, the team at EPS has been on hand to make sure everything ran smoothly and to answer any queries we had." And he concluded: "We've also received positive after-sales support - not that we've experienced any problems - but EPS has been in touch just to make sure the equipment is performing well and its integration is having a positive impact on our business.".
