Fibermark has launched Iridescents by Corvon, a line of packaging materials that is claimed to combine lustrous reflectivity to elevate brand images.

Iridescents is created through a proprietary process, producing a customisable material option for packaging.

The product range is available in 13 standard colours but can be custom matched.

Its coating, texture and finish can incorporate an array of desired glossy or matte finishes.

Iridescents can be used to create an array of package designs, as well as coordinating collateral items, such as sales kits, point of purchase displays, posters, tags, brochures, shopping bags and other marketing vehicles to reinforce a brand image, said Fibermark.

Iridescents is said to be compatible with a variety of manufacturing and secondary decorating processes, including die-cutting, post-embossing, silk screening and foil stamping with superior results.

Additionally, Fibermark said it can accommodate short runs, allowing converters to create realistic prototypes for test marketing or approvals.

"The ability for Iridescents to effectively reflect light when viewed from different angles makes it an ideal choice for brand managers looking to capture extra shelf-impact edge," said S Pemberton Hutchinson, the vice president for packaging at Fibermark.

Fibermark said that its materials are durable, strong, scuff and stain resistant and are available in various weights.

The company believes that Iridescents provides options for CD and DVD packaging, cosmetics, biscuits, or confectionery gift boxes, collector's editions and packaging designed for long-term reuse.
