For the first time in the exhibition's history, FESPA 2005 - to be held in Munich, Germany - will include a series of free seminars and workshops.

They are aimed at educating visitors on the latest issues and developments in screen and digital printing.

The seminars, which will take place in two purpose-built theatres in halls B1 and B2 at the Munich Messe, will run for the duration of the five-day show.

FESPA has confirmed its speakers, comprising recognised industry experts and manufacturers, who between them will discuss an extensive array of important industry topics and issues.

The line-up includes past-FESPA president and well-known screenprinting specialist, Michel Caza, who will address the environmental issue relating to water and air pollution and, in a separate seminar, file-handling and management for both screen and digital printing.

Other aspects of the programme will see the US Screen Printing Institute chair a seminar on colour separation for garment printers, whilst Stewart Partridge from information and research consultancy Web Consulting will host a debate focussed on the growth of digital technology.

Major manufacturers will also lead seminars on the wide-ranging subject schedule, with Marabu, VUTEk, Scitex and Sericol all represented.

With another nine months before the show and sold floor space now at 18 per cent (more than at the same period before FESPA 2002), exhibition director Frazer Chesterman is enthusiastic about what lies in store for visitors.

"We are thrilled with the continued interest in FESPA 2005 and are confident that we will ultimately fill 25,000m2 of exhibition space", he explained.

"The strong seminar programme is just one of the new initiatives for 2005 that together promise to make next year's show the most exciting FESPA event yet." FESPA 2005 will run from May 31 to June 4 2005.

Full details of the seminar programme timetable and more information is available from the FESPA web site.
