FESPA is expanding its global reach, welcoming four new associations in to its family with immediate effect.

FESPA's member base in northern Europe is growing with the addition of a new joint association representing the Baltic states of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.

Known as the Baltic United Screen Printing Association (BUSPA), the joint body represents 220 screen and digital printers from the region.

Three new associate member organisations have been accepted from the Asia Pacific region - from China, the CSGIA (Chinese Screenprinting and Graphic Imaging Association), from Thailand, the TSGA (Thai Screenprinting and Graphic Association) and, from Australia, the SGIAA (Screenprinting and Graphic Imaging Association of Australia).

FESPA general secretary, Nigel Steffens, commented: "FESPA's continuing expansion beyond Europe is indicative of the globalisation which is defining the future of the screen and digital printing industries, and we're delighted to welcome these four new member associations.

We are working closely with the national screen and digital printing associations to devise a comprehensive range of support initiatives, embracing everything from education, training and knowledge sharing, to promotion of industry standards.

We are committed to making the widest possible array of tools accessible to the associations to share with their own member companies." Clem Johnson, federal president of the SGIAA in Australia, commented: "In today's ultra-competitive commercial environment, an international umbrella organisation, such as FESPA, provides tangible value by bringing together the collective knowledge and experience of diverse national associations and their members and making it readily accessible to the wider community.

We very much look forward to working with FESPA and the other national and regional associations to increase our mutual understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing screen and digital printers around the world.".
