Entries are now invited from digital printers for the FESPA Digital Print Awards, Europe 2007, the pan-European competition conceived as a showcase for digital print achievements.

Referring to the considerable interest that the programme has aroused among printers since it was announced at FESPA's Digital Printing Exhibition in May, Nigel Steffens, FESPA general secretary noted "It is evident that digital printers realise that the Awards will provide an effective means of demonstrating many new opportunities to their customers on both a communications and productivity level.".

Commenting on behalf of HP, who are supporting the programme as part of the company's commitment to digital printing and the expansion of its applications, Manel Martinez, General Manager, Large Format Printing Europe, Middle East and Africa commented "We are very pleased to see that the scope of the programme , from sign industry to variable print data and industrial applications is attracting considerable attention right across Europe" A key feature of the program is the prize book that will publish the results in 2007.

Set to become an important reference in the digital print sector, it will present both category and regional winners as well as a large number of entries that are commended by the independent high-level jury.

In acknowledgement of the effort that is always required to enter projects by digital printers, the publication will also list all participants.

Each participating digital printer will get a free copy of the publication that will undoubtedly be useful in new business situations.

The competition is open to all digital printers, with no restriction on make of printer, substrate or ink used.

The eight categories are: Exterior; Interior; Vehicles; Decoration; Direct Marketing; Packaging; Textiles; Manufactured goods.

Deadline for entries is December 1st 2006.
