FESPA Enlarges European Screenprinting Show
Because of demand, The Federation of European Screen Printing Associations (FESPA) has increased the amount of floor space at its 2005 exhibition, with a fourth hall at the Munich Exhibition Centre.
One of FESPA's key aims is to help printers equip themselves with the technical and business knowledge they need to be successful and profitable, as well as providing useful networking opportunities.
At FESPA 2007, visitors will see the most varied and extensive programme of added-value features ever delivered at a screen printing and wide-format digital imaging exhibition.
We are particularly excited about the digital debate - it will bring together industry thought-leaders and is set to be a show highlight." The digital debate will take place on the third day of the exhibition in the digital showcase theatre in hall 25, and it will feature a panel of experts including Ian Dinwoodie, chief exeuctive officer of Xaar and Oscar Vidal, global business manager for large format print for pay solutions at HP.
It will be chaired by FESPA World editor, Val Hirst.
The aim will be to discuss future opportunities in the digital arena, with the panel addressing various technical and business-orientated questions posed by the audience.
Ian Dinwoodie commented: "As a technology partner at FESPA 2007, Xaar will be imparting the latest thinking regarding inkjet technology and discussing future market opportunities and developments.
I look forward to these sessions and taking part in the digital debate on the future of the industry." Oscar Vidal added: "The Digital Debate will be a superb opportunity for printers to ask some questions about key issues faced by printers and we look forward to an engaging and positive forum." The themed showcase theatres at FESPA 2007 aim to provide a stimulating and educational programme provided in both German and English by industry experts.
FESPa said that the sessions will offer visitors an in-depth look at various technologies and trends.
The digital showcase theatre in Hall 25 will include issues-led presentations on topics ranging from new developments in digital inks and coatings, to applications and advantages of flatbed inkjet printing.
FESPA said that a highlight of the digital showcase theatre programme will be an Adobe workshop, which will be presented by Adobe trainer, Albrecht Fischer of XQX.
The workshop will focus on wide-format technology, including am update on new Adobe product features and an advanced session on workflow and colour management, followed by an open forum for questions.
To highlight and support the growing presence of garment decoration technology at FESPA exhibitions - at FESPA 2007 it will occupy two entire halls - the screen printing showcase theatre in Hall 1.1 will feature a special garment decoration programme, with sessions delivered by textile industry experts, such as Charlie Taublieb of Taublieb Consulting.
Charlie Taublieb commented: "In a two hour session I will explore the technical and business applications of special effects printing on garments.
The fashion industry is constantly demanding print systems that deliver that 'wow factor' and the printer has to know how to do it, on time, in budget and to a high specification.
Attendees will leave the session armed with ideas, tips and inspiration to enhance their offering and seize their next deal." Visitors to FESPA 2007 will also be able to attend a presentation made by screen printing creative expert, Bob Holt, which will concentrate on business skills and how screen printers can better understand their customers' needs and enhance their performance and sales as a result.
Bob Holt explained: "Screen printing and digital wide format imaging offer some of the finest, most effective ways for brand owners to communicate their messages but for printers, being a technical expert is not enough.
Customers need to feel that they have entered an agreement with their printer that will provide them with the quality, inspiration and value they need.
My session will examine the relationship between the printer and the customer, discussing ways in which printers can gain a competitive advantage." Recognising the international scope of both visitors and suppliers that FESPA exhibitions attract, FESPA said that the 2007 show will feature national pavilions for Poland, Italy, UK and China.
The pavilions will take the form of dedicated areas within exhibition halls and will feature local suppliers and distributors, whilst providing visitors from those countries with an immediate, focussed source of local information, networking opportunities and a point of orientation for the show.
Visitors to the show will also be treated to a display of the finest results achievable with screen and digital printing, with the FESPA premier awards gallery in the main atrium of Messe Berlin. Request a free brochure from FESPA ...
