Exploring Potential Of Screen Print At Exhibitions

A FESPA product story

At this year's Exhibiting Show, Frazer Chesterman and Marcus Timson from FESPA will be giving a presentation about the rapidly changing sector of the visual communications market.

The show will take place at Earls Court in London (UK) from June 26 - 28 June.

In FESPA's opinion, graphics are often dealt with as an afterthought when a brief is put together for an exhibition stand and, as a result, they can be unappealing and ineffective.

However, the presentation at Exhibiting Show will explore the challenges and opportunities for signage and graphics companies and will highlight ideas that will help suppliers rethink the way they produce graphics for exhibition clients, said the organisation.

FESPA is also using Exhibiting Show to launch a book called 'Sensations'.

It will show how special effect inks can be used by graphics providers to create images when produced using traditional screenprinting techniques and the latest digital technology.

Examples of how those inks can be used on different substrates such as wood, plastics and textiles will be shown.

Frazer Chesterman said: "The future of imaging lies in the graphic producer's ability to excite their customers.

We can see how well this is being done in the retail sector, where suppliers are having to be more creative to attract the attention of shoppers and we want to show that this can be applied to the exhibition sector too." He added: "Other media, such as digital screen signage, are encroaching on the printed marketplace so new inks, new processes and new thinking is needed if we are to rediscover the power of graphics.

Our presentation at Exhibiting Show is focused on the exhibition sector, so I urge any company working in this market to take time out of their busy schedule to attend." The Exhibiting Show will feature over 150 companies and will present the chance for suppliers to the sector to keep abreast of trends and to learn about new business opportunities.
