FESPA India Exhibition Gets Increased Capacity

A FESPA product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Aug 7, 2007

With bookings from exhibitors running at 65 per cent of capacity, FESPA has added another hall to the FESPA India 2007 exhibition in New Delhi from December 7 - 9.

The addition of the extra space now means that the 2007 show will be 30 per cent bigger than FESPA India 2005.

FESPA said that a number of internationally-recognised experts will provide educational seminars as part of the free conference programme running alongside FESPA India 2007.

Amongst the speakers will be screen printing expert Michel Caza, who will talk about the latest developments in screen special effects and FESPA's president Anders Nilsson, who will discuss his personal experience of evolving his business as a screen and digital printing company.

Charlie Taublieb will also present his knowledge of screen printing on textiles.

In addition, FESPA said its new Sensations book will be available at FESPA India 2007.

The book forms part of FESPA's campaign to highlight screen printing and its benefits and ability to create attention-grabbing print that other printing processes cannot match.

The Sensations book includes examples of over 30 screen-printed special effects.

FESPA added that its aim is to help screen printing companies promote their capabilities to print buyers and specifiers and the Sensations book is already a hit with over 500 copies distributed.

The book will be available on the FESPA stand at FESPA India 2007.

Colorjet, the digital inkjet printer supplier, is the platinum sponsor for FESPA India 2007 and the company is joined by Dishti, a producer of screen printing materials, as a corporate sponsor.

The exhibitor line-up includes DuPont, EFI, Esko Graphics, Fujifilm Sericol and HP, amongst other companies.

Rackesh Langer, chief technical officer at Colorjet India, commented : "An event like this, on an international platform, is sure to give a boost to the digital printing market in India.

As leaders in the Indian market, it is our responsibility to showcase the progress the Indian industry has made, setting new benchmarks in excellence.

There is going to be a tremendous response from the international and domestic markets and FESPA India is the ideal event at which to showcase the role Indian companies are going to play in the future international digital printing market." Fujifilm Sericol India's general manager for sales and marketing, Ganesh Krishnan, added: "FESPA India 2005 was the first time we had an international stature screen printing exhibition in India.

Small and medium-sized screen printers in India, who couldn't afford or weren't inclined to travel abroad, had an opportunity to see a high quality exhibition that had participation from most of the leading international and local screen printing vendors.

In India, the general perception of screen printing has been of a cottage industry but FESPA India 2005, hopefully, would have changed that perception." He explained: "Fujifilm Sericol India is very focused on both screen and digital businesses.

FESPA India 2007 is the ideal platform for us to show case our screen and digital offer to our existing and prospective customers in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

FESPA Berlin 2007 was a phenomenal success for Fujifilm Sericol globally and we are confident that FESPA India 2007 will prove to be successful for us and to better the previous Indian FESPA event." Frazer Chesterman, FESPA Events' managing director, commented: "As a not-for-profit organisation, FESPA reinvests exhibition profits in to local markets.

The results of FESPA India 2005 significantly helped in funding the establishment of the Indian Screen Printing Academy in New Delhi, which now provides practical workshops and seminars that are in huge demand.

We look forward to even greater success with FESPA 2007 and we will continue to look at ways to further support the local industry." He continued: "The inaugural FESPA India two years ago was a great success and the fantastic response we have had to the second show underlines the clear need for an exhibition of this kind to support the region's thriving printing industry.

Not only will FESPA India 2007 give print service providers the opportunity to experience machine demonstrations from the world's leading manufacturers, it will provide learning opportunities that we feel are some of the most valuable elements that FESPA can deliver.".
