FESPA Launches First Digital Textile
Conference

Digital Textile Conference will run alongside FESPA Digital Printing Europe 2008 Exhibition In Geneva.

Partnership with Digital Textile e-Broadcast will deliver expert content and optimum delegate value FESPA, the global support organisation for screen and digital printers, is responding to exponential growth in the use of wide-format digital printing technology for textile applications, by introducing a brand new Digital Textile Conference to run alongside its FESPA Digital 2008 exhibition in Geneva in April 2008 The conference will take place in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Geneva, immediately adjacent to the Palexpo exhibition centre which plays host to the FESPA Digital exhibition

Running from 11.00h on 31st March to 13.00h on 1st April, delegates will be able to easily combine this valuable learning experience with a visit to the exhibition, which runs 1-3 April 2008.

The conference, entitled Digital Printing for Commercial Success, is being delivered by FESPA in partnership with industry publication Digital Textile e-Broadcast, and will have a strong focus on examining the market opportunities that have emerged as digital printing technology for textile output has matured.

Speakers will include some of the business pioneers of digital textile printing in fields such as garments, fashion fabrics and soft signage.

There will also be expert projections on the future direction of the technology and the sector's prospects for further growth.

FESPA exhibition director Frazer Chesterman comments: "FESPA has witnessed tremendous growth in interest in textile applications among our members in recent years, so much so that FESPA 2007 in Berlin actually represented the biggest textile printing show in Europe, with over 25% of the total exhibition space devoted to textile production technologies".

Similarly, the FESPA Digital exhibition in Geneva in April will feature a number of exhibitors whose solutions are targeted specifically at textile printers, and recent research carried out by FESPA in conjunction with industry consultants InfoTrends indicates that a staggering 92.6% of FESPA visitors questioned cited textiles as the application experiencing greatest growth.

Frazer Chesterman continues: "With these unprecedented levels of interest in textile applications, FESPA has a clear remit to help printers assess the possibilities that exist with digital textile production.

The introduction of a dedicated FESPA digital textile conference in parallel with our Digital exhibition is an apt response".

Conference moderator and digital textile expert John Scrimshaw adds: "We've seen major advances in the technical maturity of digital textile printing equipment in the past few years, so much so that many of the machinery and ink suppliers now offer specially designed solutions for each niche market.

Textile printers have a wide array of equipment and ink chemistries to choose from, and as many different markets to explore.

"We're confident that this conference will help put the various technologies into their commercial context, not just describing the latest print head, ink or software package, but explaining the potential of the various digital textile printing markets and identifying which technologies work best in them".

The delegate rate, which includes lunch and dinner and one night's hotel accommodation at the Crowne Plaza Geneva on 31st March 2008, is Euros 795.

Further programme and booking details will be available via the FESPA Digital web site where delegates can register their interest now. Request a free brochure from FESPA ...
