Flint Launches Water Ink Revolution
Flint Ink has launched what it claims to be a revolutionary, highly concentrated colour technology for water inks called X-Treme Dispersions.
Flint Ink, the largest privately-owned ink manufacturer in the world, has extensive operations in the India, Pacific and Asian regions and many of its employees and customers were in areas affected by the disasters.
The contribution to the relief effort was from Flint Ink employees worldwide, the company's board of directors and the Flint Ink Foundation.
Immediately after the tsunamis, the foundation announced it would make a $100,000 contribution to support the relief effort.
In addition, it committed itself to matching, on a two-for-one basis, all employee contributions.
For every dollar, Euro, pound, peso, rupee or other monetary unit donated, the foundation contributed two more, thus tripling the amount of employee donations.
"As a Flint family member, I have always believed that our employees define the company.
We are proud and grateful to be connected to a worldwide group that has shown such exceptional generosity," said Ellen Price, chairperson of the Flint Ink Foundation.
Most of Flint Ink's contributions were donated to the United Nations Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF).
The foundation selected UNICEF because of its focus on bringing relief to children and also because of its international presence, which would allow Flint Ink employees worldwide to contribute to the co-ordinated effort.
The Flint Ink Foundation is a non-profit corporation supported primarily by contributions from Flint Ink Corporation.
The foundation said its purpose is to contribute to the quality of life in the communities where its employees live, work, and perform volunteer service.
The foundation gives special consideration to US non-profit organisations and programmes in which Flint Ink employees play an active volunteer role.
