Consistent Plate Quality With New Processors

Fuji Photo Film has launched the FLH-Z range of processors, manufactured by Glunz and Jensen, to improve the ease with which consistent plate processing can be achieved.

Fuji Photo Film has launched the FLH-Z range of processors, manufactured by Glunz and Jensen, to improve the ease with which consistent plate processing can be achieved.

The FLH-Z range is dedicated for use with Fujifilm CTP plates and is the result of Fujifilm's continued partnership with Glunz and Jensen.

The FLH-Z units are fitted with the latest ZAC 'intelligent' microprocessor control system, which is said to provide a robust, stable, high quality plate processing environment.

The ZAC control system determines the optimum replenishment rate by measuring chemistry conductivity, which in turn results in the best possible development conditions irrespective of changes in plate volume or image area, said Fuji.

Consequently, plates are always processed under optimum conditions delivering improved consistency, reduced chemistry usage with associated environmental benefits and lower costs.

The FLH-Z range extends from 85cm, through to 125cm, 150cm and 165cm plate sizes and is said to be suitable for the entire thermal market.

Remote diagnostic facilities are also embedded within the system enabling customers and Fujifilm's technical support teams to better diagnose issues that may affect production.

The introduction of the new range supports the launch of the Brillia High Definition thermal plate, Brillia HD LH-PJE, with the resulting combination simplifying high quality plate production through automated replenishment, improved imaging quality and wider processing tolerances, claimed Fuji.

The system is said to be suitable for more demanding FM and hybrid screening algorithms, which the company said are notoriously difficult to print on-press, resulting in easier to achieve, consistent, high quality print production.

The new range of processors will be commercially available in the first quarter of this year.
