Paul Borloo, managing director of Belgium-based Fuji Hunt has seen the deals as the logical conclusion to a diversification plan aimed at establishing the company as a leading manufacturer of print and press chemicals, and creating a true worldwide presence.
"This acquisition was a joint initiative of the three Fuji Hunt companies, established separately in Europe, the US and in Singapore.
Each of these sister companies has a strategic interest to further expand into Asia and they will bundle their efforts to grow this business in the dynamic Asian market," Borloo said.
As part of its development strategy, Fuji hunt had previously acquired Anchor of the USA and Solco of Belgium.
Fuji Hunt's worldwide research and development efforts would also benefit from the latest deals, as DS Chemport would bring to the group extensive experience in UV coatings and chemicals for the flexo market, the company believes.
Chief executive officer DS Chemport Australia, Graham McKenzie said that following the acquisition of the European based DS Group by Fuji Hunt, his company had been looking forward to joining the ranks of its international colleagues to become an active partner in Fuji Hunt's expansion strategy.
"This co-operation will not only enable the DS Chemport companies to strengthen their ties with worldwide printing companies but also to benefit from Fuji Hunt's global technical and R and D capabilities which will drive the future growth and expansion of DS in Australia and South East Asia," he added.
