Fullbrook Systems has launched a new method for roller based ink and water balance tests.

Fullbrook Systems has launched a new method for roller based ink and water balance tests The test is said to determine rheological properties, such as tack and ink length, as well as considering surface interactions on the image and non-image areas of a printing plate

The Lithovision system measures tack as well as the ink and water balance in real time under press conditions, claimed Fullbroiok Systems.

A controlled damping system, microwave sensor and high speed camera are key to the measurement, whilst force sensors mounted in the surface of the cylinder measure the film formation and the tack independently of each other.

Until now, those key parameters of lithographic printing have been almost impossible to measure under realistic conditions, claimed Fullbrook Systems.
