New Automation Features Smooth Workflow
Fujifilm Graphic Systems has announced it has incorporated new automation features in to its Fuji Open Workflow.
Workflow Saves 30 Minutes Per Job For Tawny Press
Fujifilm has installed a Luxel Vx-9600 CTP and Fuji Open Workflow at Essex (UK) commercial printers, Tawny Press.
With further new enhancements, Open Workflow now encompasses more tools to improve the efficiency of the production and the pre-press process, said Fujifilm.
The Book Proof feature in Open Workflow is said to now allow printing to a double page Duplex laser printer, which enables the print supplier to produce a backed up dummy that can be finished to provide an internal or client simulation of the final product for approval.
The Reliable Digital Master feature works with the system's JDF capabilities to generate a double page PDF imposition.
That can be produced in colour or can be converted to greyscale to further reduce the size of the print file.
Open Workflow now provides a new Pickaproof for plotters.
When outputting to inkjet proofers, the operator can turn off inks to proof cutter guides or varnishes separately from the main spot and process colours, said the company.
The new 'intelligent scatter proofing feature is claimed to enable the pre-press operator to maximise paper usage when proofing a number of images or pages.
The operator inputs the minimum amount of paper coverage they would be prepared to accept and then feeds the files in to a queue.
Scatter proofing places the files in the optimum order needed to achieve the specified target coverage.
Once the system reaches or passes this target it automatically produces a proof, which saves both time and consumables, claimed Fujifilm.
To conserve paper, Open Workflow has always removed the white space that can be present around pages prior to proofing through its direct inkjet function, Ramproof Direct.
The same feature has now been added when producing a contone file for third party proofing.
Fujifilm added that soft proofing has always been a feature in Open Workflow and now a print control feature has been added within the monitor proof application to give more control when printing from the Mac.
