Fujifilm Graphic Systems has launched its new CTP plate for the newspaper market - Brillia LP-NNV.

Fujifilm Graphic Systems has launched its new CTP plate for the newspaper market - Brillia LP-NNV.

The Brillia LP-NNV second generation violet photopolymer plate builds on the company's current LP-NV violet plate, and is said to introduce new benefits designed specifically for newspaper printing.

First launched at Ipex 2002, Fujifilm's violet photopolymer technology is now being successfully used by many print companies all around the world, said the company.

Brillia LP-NNV represents the latest evolution of that technology, and comes after three years of research and development.

Brillia LP-NNV uses Fujifilm's patented multigrain process to maximise ink and water balance and now features a second-generation emulsion designed to reduce dot gain and improve linearity.

It is manufactured for 405nm violet diode CTP units and has been developed for both mid-run and long-run newspapers.

Fujifilm claimed that it is robust and able to cope with the most demanding press and paper conditions with run lengths up to 300,000 impressions.

The plate is also compatible with the existing range of Fujifilm developers.

Brillia LP-NNV is available from the second quarter of this year.
