The fundraiser was organised by Fujifilm Graphic Systems at The 2005 Newspaper Awards.
Cancer Research UK is dedicated to researching the causes, treatment and prevention of cancer.
Its scientific spend is more than GBP 213 million per year, which is raised almost entirely through public donations.
The money collected by Fujifilm will be used to help support the work of over 3,000 scientists, doctors and nurses working across the UK.
Nicola Hunter, the community fundraiser for Cancer Research UK, commented: "Every donation to Cancer Research UK can save lives and we hope that the next generation will see the most advances yet against many cancers.
The money raised by Fujifilm and the newspaper industry will be used specifically for lymphoma research.".
