LEA Printers has installed a Fujifilm Luxel Vx-9600 violet B1 platesetter at its Orpington (UK) premises as part of its move to violet CTP.

LEA Printers has installed a Fujifilm Luxel Vx-9600 violet B1 platesetter at its Orpington (UK) premises as part of its move to violet CTP Following the acquisition of another print company, LEA required a platesetter to produce B1 plates

As a previous user of Fujifilm Brillia LH-PIE thermal plates, LEA has also signed a new violet plate deal for Fujifilm's Brillia LP-NV plates to supply the company's Heidelberg B1 six-colour press.

Nigel Gill, managing director at LEA Printers, commented: "Our new acquisition has strengthened the company and our resources, enabling us to improve both the product and delivery times that we offer to our customers.

We anticipate that our move to Fuji violet CTP will enable us to continue to improve our turn-around times and profitability.

We were already a user of Fuji Open Workflow and Fuji's violet CTP was the best to meet our requirements.

We have complete confidence in Fuji products and in the company as a supplier and the customer service we have received from Fujifilm has been excellent." LEA's run lengths range from 200 - 400,000 impressions and the company said it has already seen definite speed advantages using the Luxel Vx-9600 CTP - outputting plates three times faster than its thermal system, claimed Fujifilm.

The commercial printer supplies a range of print to its customers, who include publishers, local authorities, private health and insurance companies.
