New CTP And Workflow Help Win 50% Business Boost
Galloways, a commercial and packaging printer based in Poynton, Cheshire (UK) has seen its commercial work increase by 50 per cent since installing a complete Fujifilm violet CTP and workflow system.
The Aztec 85 News is designed to work in an on-line, fully automatic plate-processing configuration and is compatible with all newspaper platesetters currently available in the UK.
The key features of the Aztec 85 News include advanced pre-heat technology, a 60-litre development tank and internal water recirculation system.
Plate processing speeds in excess of 2.0 metres per minute can be achieved said Fujifilm.
The processor is also said to offer accurate and reliable control of chemistry replenishment and has been designed to work with Fujifilm's standard clean-working chemistry systems where claimed replenishment rates of 50ml per hour and 50ml per square metre are required.
Fujifilm believes that to meet the demand of the highly exacting production schedules in today's newspaper environment pre-press platemaking departments need a reliable processing system with built-in production redundancy.
The company added that it has designed the Aztec 85 News to carry spare drive motors, replenishment and recirculation pumps on board.
Should there be a pump or motor failure the on-board replacement can be brought in to operation within a few minutes, providing the user with the minimum of downtime.
Fujifilm claimed that no other plate processor currently available on the market today provides that built-in redundancy option.
The processor is said to be suitable for CTP plates with a maximum plate width of 850mm and a minimum plate length of 290mm, making it compatible with most single and panoramic plate sizes used in the UK.
