Workflow Saves 30 Minutes Per Job For Tawny Press
Fujifilm has installed a Luxel Vx-9600 CTP and Fuji Open Workflow at Essex (UK) commercial printers, Tawny Press.
Ethedo is also using Fuji Open Workflow to drive two Epson proofers and has been utilising the 'RIP once, output many' feature to provide colour accurate and content specific proofs to all its customers.
Using the workflow's ICC functions, Ethedo has profiled its proofers and presses and can now colour manage and drive its proofs directly to the proofers.
The company has noticed that proofs are more accurate, spot colours are replicated more vividly and it has been able to make significant time-savings in the production of proofs.

Violet CTP And Workflow Creates More Productivity
Fujifilm Graphic Systems has installed a Luxel Vx-9600 B1 CTP system at Prism Graphic Resources, a digital, litho and large-format printer based in Leeds (UK).
Chris Best, repro manager at Ethedo Press, commented: "We have been very impressed by the speed and efficiency delivered by Fuji Open Workflow.
It wasn't until we had installed the system, were using it and understood its functions that we realised its vast capabilities.
Everyone has noticed our quicker turn-around times - we've gone from outputting a proof for a press-ready job in 24 hours to between four and five hours and customers really notice that level of service." Along with Fuji Open Workflow, Ethedo Press opted for Liso screening and has been using it for high end point of sale work and publishing clients.
Liso combines the benefits of stochastic screening and conventional halftone screening.
As a result, Fuji Open Workflow now offers line screens exceeding 300 lines per inch (lpi) without the need to change press conditions or procedures.
As well as eliminating artefacts in FM to AM transition areas, it prevents moire, rosettes and grainy images.
Ethedo Press has been an early adapter in implementing new technologies in the printing industry.
It was one of the first companies to install a silver CTP system in 1998 and thiat was followed by its current thermal system in 2001.
It selected Fuji Open Workflow because of its open nature and modular structure, so it can add new features as and when the company is ready.
Ethedo has also switched to using Fujifilm Brillia LH-PIE plates as it claimed Fuji was able to provide a better quality, non-bakeable plate.
The company has noticed benefits from switching plate supplier, specifically in the areas of stability and consistency - the calibration on t the printers doesn't vary and the plate can endure longer run lengths.
